Mel Gibson’s Surprising Perspective on the LA Wildfires Stirs Reactions

Actor Mel Gibson recently opened up about the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles, and his remarks have left many people puzzled and speculating.

Known for his role in the iconic film Mad Max, Gibson suffered a personal loss when his £12 million Malibu home was consumed by the flames. This unfortunate event prompted Gibson to share some intriguing ideas that have sparked widespread debate and conversation.

“I can come up with countless unsettling thoughts—conspiracy theories and whatnot—but it did seem rather coincidental that there wasn’t any water available,” he remarked.

“The wind seemed perfectly timed, and it looked like folks were quite prepared to ignite these fires,” he suggested, alluding to the notion that perhaps these fires were intentionally set to clear land for lucrative real estate developments.

Reflecting on the news of a suspect’s arrest in connection to one of the fires, Gibson pondered whether this individual was acting alone or if there was more behind the scenes.

“The people they’re apprehending seem to be pretty well-equipped,” Gibson commented during an interview with Laura Ingraham on Fox News’ The Ingraham Angle.

He added, “There are instances where water resources were purposely released for different reasons.”

“California faces many challenges that even baffle the sharpest minds outside looking in,” he continued.

He pondered, “In scenarios like these, you start wondering—is it deliberate?”

“Sounds out there, doesn’t it? Yet, one starts to question if there’s an underlying reason. What could it be? Is there a desire to empty the state? I can’t say for sure,” he wondered aloud.

“Still, those individuals they’re capturing seem highly equipped.”

His thoughts certainly stirred a considerable amount of controversy.

Online, people chimed in, with one expressing, “His conspiracy theories are all he’s got now. While Californians fight off fires, he’s busy fanning flames of a different kind.” Another simply stated, “Shameful.”

Host Laura Ingraham mentioned there has been ongoing conversation about building high-density housing developments in the areas ravaged by fire. Gibson compared this situation to “old cattle barons pushing folks off the land.”
