My Wife Told Me Our 3-Year-Old Son Had Been Buried – A Day Later, I Discovered the Horrifying Truth

After five years of marriage, Greg and Natalie, who had met and married at a young age, decided to part ways. They realized the love they once shared had faded, and separating was best for both of them. Their split was amicable, with no harsh words or bitter disputes over custody. Instead, it was a mutual understanding that they weren’t destined to be together forever.

By the time their divorce was finalized, Greg and Natalie had each settled in different states.

Despite the distance, they remained in contact, focusing on their cherished son Oliver, who meant the world to both of them. Oliver stayed with Natalie, but every night, she would call Greg, allowing him the opportunity to say goodnight to Oliver. This nightly ritual, though simple, was significant to Greg and made the distance feel less painful.

Everything seemed to function smoothly between the co-parents until an evening call from Natalie shattered Greg’s sense of stability. As Greg answered the phone with a smile, expecting a cheerful conversation with Oliver, Natalie’s heart-wrenching cries immediately took him aback. “Greg, our son is gone!” she wailed.

Greg asked in disbelief, “What do you mean gone? What happened?”

Natalie’s agonized response, “Oliver is dead!”, left Greg in shock, unable to comprehend the words. His beloved Oliver was no longer alive, or so he’d been told.

After regaining some composure, Greg desperately tried to get more information, but Natalie’s response was, “He’s been buried.”

This revelation was incomprehensible to Greg. How was it possible he hadn’t been informed earlier, not even given the chance to say a final goodbye to his son or attend the funeral? Natalie explained tearfully that everything transpired too rapidly to notify him.

However, this story seemed unlikely.

Determined to uncover the truth, Greg quickly packed his bags and arranged a flight back to his former town. The next morning, he attempted to contact Natalie again, but it was Mike, Natalie’s new husband, who answered. His demeanor indicated there was more to this story than Greg was aware of.

“Greg, Oliver is alive,” Mike revealed, shaking Greg to his core.

Stunned, Greg murmured, “What? What are you talking about?” struggling to process these words.

Mike elaborated, explaining that Natalie had fabricated the story. She seemed to have suffered a mental breakdown, convinced Greg intended to take Oliver away for good.

Greg reassured Mike there was no intention of taking Oliver away, but understood Mike’s difficulty in convincing Natalie otherwise.

Regardless, Greg continued his journey to see his son. Upon arriving, he confronted Natalie with anger and disbelief at her actions. “How could you do this to me?” he demanded upon seeing her.

Natalie broke down, apologizing profusely. She was expecting another child and had feared that upon learning this, Greg would seek permanent custody of Oliver.

“You made me believe my son was dead,” Greg exclaimed, overwhelmed with emotion. “Do you have any idea what you’ve put me through?” he added.

Realizing the gravity of her actions, Greg suggested counseling might be beneficial to unravel the underlying issues that led to such deceit.

Throughout this ordeal, Mike had been supportive, and Greg was relieved that if anyone were to act as a father figure in his son’s life, it would be someone like Mike who was honest and forthright.

This harrowing experience prompted Greg to re-evaluate his priorities. The mere notion of losing Oliver forever drove him to reconsider his living situation. Upon returning home, Greg began to explore career opportunities closer to Oliver and Natalie, intent on ensuring that distance would no longer keep him from his son.
