Mel Gibson’s Views on LA Fires: A Wild Ride of Emotions and Theories

When disaster strikes, it’s human nature to search for reasons and assign blame. This thought process remains evident as the Los Angeles wildfires continue to wreak havoc.

Over the years, numerous theories have surfaced regarding the LA fires, and as time progresses, new conspiracy theories are bound to emerge. Among the voices sharing their unique perspective is actor Mel Gibson.

Mel Gibson, who is now 69 years old, recently shared that he lost his home in Malibu to the devastating fire. While speaking on the Joe Rogan Experience Podcast, the actor revealed the complete destruction of his residence due to the wildfire.

Describing his multimillion-dollar home as ‘completely toasted,’ Gibson expressed the deep sadness and emotional weight of such a loss. It’s easy to empathize with someone who experiences such a profound disruption in their life.

Gibson opened up about the tragedy, stating, “I’ve never seen such a complete burn. It is obviously devastating, it’s emotional. You live there for a long time, and you had all your stuff. I lived there for about 14, 15 years, so it was home to me.”

In addition to his podcast appearance, Gibson also made a guest appearance on a Fox News show where he delved into a bold conspiracy theory. Aware of the outlandishness of his thoughts, Gibson himself admitted this particular theory teetered on the brink of insanity.

He discussed his suspicions by saying, “I know they were messing with the water, letting reserves go for one reason or another. They’ve been doing that a while. California has a lot of problems that sort of baffle the mind as far as why they do things.”

As the conversation progressed, Gibson posed thought-provoking questions: “Is it on purpose? Do they want the state empty?”

Gibson acknowledged his tendency to develop speculative ideas, referring to them as “horrible theories.” He remarked, “I can make all kinds of horrible theories up in my head, conspiracy theories and everything else, but it just seemed a little convenient that there was no water.”

Continuing his narrative, Gibson emphasized the suspicions surrounding the fires and their possible origins, stating, “And that the wind conditions were right and that there are people ready and willing and able to start fires. And are they commissioned to do so or acting on their own volition? I don’t know. But they seem pretty well equipped these people that they are catching.”

During the conversation, the interviewer mentioned a growing conversation about the reconstruction of the affected areas. “Well, now there’s already talk. And we played a couple of soundbites. Of re-imagining the way rebuilding occurs,” they noted.

The interviewer continued, “And obviously, there’s a great need for high-density housing in California and across the country. That’s a big push by the climate folks. And you’re already hearing rumblings of that. In this case, like goodbye single-family homes. Hello high-density housing!”

There were mixed reactions to Gibson’s comments, with many feeling that the actor might be heavily influenced by his role in the movie, Conspiracy Theory. It’s pertinent to remember that while theories often contain a kernel of truth, the more outlandish ones are hard to substantiate and follow.
