Angelina Jolie has recently opened up about how her marriage to Brad Pitt brought about some frightening health concerns.
The couple swiftly walked down the aisle and shared a long 12-year journey together with their six wonderful children. However, the world was taken aback in 2016 when Jolie filed for divorce. After a prolonged and complicated legal process, the divorce was finalized in 2024.
Among other revelations, an FBI report obtained by Entertainment Weekly shed light on an unsettling event that allegedly occurred in 2022 involving the famous couple.
In the report, it’s mentioned that Brad Pitt allegedly took Angelina to the back of a plane, where he reportedly gripped her head and shoulders, shaking her while shouting accusations about her affecting their family.
It’s further claimed that Pitt vented his frustration by punching the plane’s ceiling multiple times. When Angelina opened the door, two of their children, whose names have been kept private, were crying and concerned about her wellbeing. Pitt allegedly responded in a harsh manner, saying that their mother was indeed not okay and pointing fingers at her for ruining the family. The report also alleges an incident where he poured beer on Jolie as she sought comfort under a blanket with the children.

Moreover, the FBI document made mention of the Department of Children and Family Services Bureau of Child Protection receiving a report alleging potential harm to a minor. Despite many parts of the report being blacked out, it nonetheless outlines tension between Pitt and his children, including a remark reportedly made by Pitt comparing one of the children to a Columbine student.
Following their split, Jolie’s representative addressed the media, explaining to People magazine, “Angelina Jolie Pitt has decided to dissolve the marriage for the well-being of the family. She requests privacy as they navigate this challenging time.”
On the other hand, a representative for Pitt denied any allegations of physical abuse. “He is adamant that the situation never escalated to physical harm. He insists that he did not strike anyone,” the statement read. “Yes, there was a physical interaction, but it never involved hitting; the situation was simply spinning out of control.”
Pitt’s team further commented, sharing with U.S. outlets, “Brad has acknowledged his wrongdoings from the onset – unlike others involved – but he firmly stands not to accept blame for actions he did not commit. He’s faced numerous personal attacks but remains unyielding. Various public authorities, which the opposing side sought out, have made their judgments independently. Brad will continue to address matters through legal avenues as he’s consistently done before.”
Additional claims of physical abuse have since been made by Jolie, asserting these tensions began much earlier than 2022.
In a deeply personal interview with The Wall Street Journal in 2023, Jolie shared that the stress of her tumultuous relationship had impacted her health, leading to a diagnosis of Bell’s palsy in 2017.
The noted actress recounted, “My body has a very strong reaction to stress,” she admitted. “My blood sugar levels go all over the place. Just half a year before my divorce, I suddenly developed Bell’s palsy.”
Experts, including those at the Mayo Clinic, describe Bell’s palsy as causing sudden muscle weakness or temporary paralysis on one side of the face, resulting in significant discomfort.
While the underlying causes of Bell’s palsy remain somewhat mysterious, medical professionals speculate that it may stem from nerve inflammation or swelling of the facial muscles, potentially triggered by a viral infection.
