800 Million Year Old Princess Discovery
It’s a tale straight out of a fairytale, though it has its roots deep in the mines of Russia. The incredible story hails from September 1969 in Rzhavchik Tisulskago, a quaint village nestled in the Kemerovo province of Russia. An ordinary workday took an extraordinary turn when miner Karnaukhov stumbled upon a marble coffin during his routine excavation, more than 72 meters underground. This wasn’t just any coffin; its exterior was adorned with exceptionally elaborate patterns.
As news of the discovery spread, the entire mining operation came to a halt, and the mysterious coffin was carefully hoisted to the surface. Witnesses describe it as being surrounded by fossilized edges. When the miners managed to open it, they found themselves gazing at the preserved body of a woman, which only added to the mystique of the find.

Per the descriptions, the entombed woman appeared to be around 30 years old, with striking European features marked by large, round blue eyes. Her waist-length hair, thick and slightly curly with red tints, and well-kept nails on her soft hands, gave her an almost lifelike appearance. She was dressed in a knee-length lace dress decorated with floral embroidery, yet no undergarments were found. Locally, she became known as Princess Tisulsky, and her serene, almost alive presence fascinated many.
Adding to the air of mystery was a peculiar metal box, about 10x25cm in dimension, resting at her head. It was rectangular at one end and circular at the other, with its purpose or origin unknown to those who saw it.
The peculiar pink-blue liquid that filled the sarcophagus caught the curiosity of one particularly bold miner, who dared to taste it. A risky move, as it turned out—within a week, he was reportedly driven to madness. This bizarre incident happened while the coffin remained open to the elements for 10 to 15 hours, under the scrutinizing eyes of local authorities. Eventually, a helicopter arrived, charged with taking the coffin away, and the site of the find was promptly sealed off from the outside world.

The coffin’s unexpected weight presented the men retrieving it with a challenge. In an attempt to solve this, they decided to drain the liquid inside. The moment they did, the once vibrant skin of the princess wrinkled and darkened, rapidly transforming her appearance into that of a desiccated mummy. Some speculated, quite sensationally, that this coffin—awe-inspiring as it was—might date back 800 million years. Such an age defies scientific reasoning, as human history and evolution as we understand them could never stretch back that far, and if it did, even in fantasy, the contents would have surely fossilized beyond recognition—not remain preserved in such an uncanny state.
