Trying to keep a tight body all year long is a struggle for everybody, celebrities included. In fact, it can be a lot more stressful on well-known people since they’re constantly in the public’s eye and are being silently criticized for their appearance. However, there are several reasons why celebrities shed or add poundage to their fab bodies, which you’ll see from our list. 1. Chris Pratt

Chriss Pratt stole our hearts as the dumb, carefree Andrew Dwyer on the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation. However, after he was recruited into the Marvel Universe, he had to transform into the badass, ultra-chiseled superhero Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy. Today, it’s hard to imagine this super-suave celebrity as a lovable chubster form his sitcom days.

2. Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey has been known to be an absolute diva at times, and she definitely deserves to be. She’s been singing her heart and soul out for fans across the globe for roughly 30 years now, and she has no plans of stopping.

3. Rebel Wilson

You know her as Penelope Garcia from the CBS drama Criminal Minds. Rebel Wilson decided that extra poundage wasn’t doing her any good. Her self-confidence, or lack thereof, pushed her to seek professional help, and through a rigorous weight-loss program, her transformation has left her practically unrecognizable from her past self.

You’d think that multi-billionaire Oprah Winfrey wouldn’t let critics get to her. Hot in Cleveland made Valerie Bertinelli famous, but she wasn’t satisfied with that as she wanted to also lose weight and become a healthier person and more beautiful. She started this journey through the Jenny Craig program which helped her lose weight very fast. By paying attention to the things that she ate, she lost 50 pounds. However, she unfortunately regained 40 pounds after a couple of years. This didn’t last as she lost some weight again, she explained the reason as to why she had regained that weight back by saying that stress had made her stop realizing that she was eating more and more.

6. Celine Dion

Celin Dion is one of the most infamous vocalists, bringing the world the original soundtrack to Titanic, My Heart Will Go On. When she lost her life partner in 2016, she’s been struggling with her weight, becoming a hard-recognizable skeletal figure that shocked her audiences. Thankfully, she’s been getting better, but the old musician still has some serious issues to overcome. We’re praying for you, Celine!

7. Anne Hegerty – Healthy Diet

Anne Hegerty has gained plenty of confidence after she lost weight. Many people are curious as to how The Chase star managed to accomplish this feat, and she decided to be completely open about the process. Her weight loss gave her plenty of confidence and gave her the courage to test the waters of love again. With her dedication she has inspired plenty of her followers.

8. Jennifer Ellison – Lost 28 Lbs

Jennifer Ellison first rose to fame when she appeared in Brookside. After that she became also famous she became part of Dance Mums, a reality tv show. Throughout the years, her body changed drastically, and when she gained weight, the Cambridge Diet helped her the most on her weight loss journey.

With this diet she managed to limit her food intake and judging from the pictures, we can see that it has been working out for her! While it is impressive what she has achieved so far, the fact that she also has three children, makes this feat even more astounding. So far, it seems that her career is on the right track.

Keely Shaye Smith, who is married to the famous actor Pierce Brosnan, gained weight when she gave birth. This is something that many women deal with, but she found what was working for her. Her weight loss journey started when she became more active, and in the process she lost a whopping 100 pounds.

Her husband has always been supportive of her, even when people were targeting her when she gained weight. Pierce has admitted that he loves his wife madly, and chose to ignore the people who attacked his wife. When Keely started changing her lifestyle she did just become more active, but she also started eating healthier, that meant no more late-night snacks and more meals that are full of organic ingredients. Thanks to her dedication she managed to lose all the weight that she wanted. Nowadays, she is trying to maintain her figure by leading a healthy life. Whether you love her or not, you can’t deny that this Jersey Shore store is a fascinating person. She was a fan favorite on the reality TV series, and she became an Instagram success with over 13.5 million followers. After giving birth in August 2012, she decided to slim back down to her original self by dropping about 100 pounds.

Never trust a skinny chef, right? Well, this doesn’t hold for celebrity chef Graham Elliott. One of the hosts of the American TV series MasterChef left viewers in utter amazement after he transformed from being past-the-line obese to becoming the 150-pound-lighter person he is today. In 2013, he opted for weight-reduction surgery, but he also stays physically active through jogging.

Her transformation came after taking her daughter out of the reality show, giving her time to focus on herself, and boy, did it pay off! Through exercise and a healthy diet, she managed to drop 150 pounds!

14. Wendy Williams

TV show host and radio personality Wendy Williams slimmed down by about 50 pounds with a bit of help from professional trainers. Wendy said in an interview that her decision to get in shape stemmed from a fight to avoid heart disease. She’s had weight problems in the past, and her first diet was in the first grade when all she ate was tuna and mustard for lunch.

The youngest sister of the Kardashian trio, Khloe Kardashian has made a significant shift in lifestyle that has led to dropping over 50 pounds. After giving birth, Khloe made a vow to get in shape and get in shape she did. She says her confidence has skyrocketed due to losing so much of her pregnancy weight.

16. Christian Bale

Christian Bale’s true weight is unknown. He’s gone through so many transformations that everyone has a different image of Christian in their mind. As Batman, he chiseled his abs. In The Fighter, he dropped over 100 pounds of muscle to convince viewers of his character’s drug addiction. In Vince, he ate his bodyweight’s worth of food overnight to morph into Dick Cheyney.

His weight was the butt of many jokes on Between Two Ferns and The Hangover trilogy, but he decided to quit drinking alcohol for good in 2014. In a reveal to Team Coco, Zach stated his reason for no longer getting drunk is that a nasty run-in with some “Jaguar-driving jerks” led him to make some drastic life changes. Since then, he’s been down 50 pounds.

The star from comedy film Superbad started his Hollywood career as an overweight man, mostly to complement his comedic style of acting. Since landing of Seth in 2007, he’s had an up-and-down relation with weight loss, often coming back heftier than ever after dropping more than 30 pounds. In 2011, he decided to make a permanent change and drop around 50 pounds as he wanted to be viewed as a serious, responsible adult.

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson became a start when he was recruited by Em and Dr. Dre (another person to make this list) at the turn of the century. When he first came to the spotlight, he was an intimidating figure in the music business, not just with his controversial lyrics but also with his physique. In 2011, 50 Cent dropped a tremendous amount of weight to portray a cancer patient in All Things Fall Apart, which, sadly, flopped at the box office.

Christina Aguilera experienced significant weight while being pregnant with her second son at the time, and after giving birth, she did all she could to drop more than 30 pounds in leftover pregnancy weight. Christina publically said that she adores her body regardless of what size pants she wears, but she was incredibly happy to slim back down for the following season on The Voice.

It’s hard to imagine a thin John Goodman, isn’t it? After all, he was the beefy father the ABC sitcom Rosanne whose large figure was intimidating and endearing at the same time. Throughout his life, John had a bad habit of indulging in junk food. He admitted that his lifestyle involved eating “crap” all day. By abstaining from fatty foods and alcohol, he lost 100 pounds between 2007 and 2010.

Back in 2011, rapper Rick Ross suffered from two seizures within a 24-hour timeframe. This was the wakeup call the Hustlin’ rapper needed to get his life in order. In just seven months, the 300-pound Rick Ross shed nearly 100 pounds with a high-intense workout plan led by professional trainers.

Russell Crowe was infamous for a statement he made about feeling grossed out about being overweight. The 6-foot-4-inch behemoth Jason Segel is mainly known for portraying Marshall on the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother. According to the actor, he was asked to lose weight in order to gain the role of Tom Solomon in The Five-Year Engagement. It wasn’t easy, but with a low-carb diet and plenty of exercise, he dropped 35 pounds to star in the 2012 film.

27. Dr. Dre

During the golden age of rap, Dr. Dre was a pretty intimidating person, due to his association with the likes of NWA and Death Row Records. He was a pretty doughy fella during his prime time in the music biz, all the way up to around 2011 until he decided that he didn’t want to be 50 and over 250 pounds. He hit the gym and dropped around 50 pounds. Now, he’s showing off the upper-body muscle that would make prime 50 Cent jealous.

28. Kevin Federline

Known for being the ex-husband of songstress Britney Spears and a joke of a rapper, K-Fed maintained a chiseled body back when he was still in the spotlight. Today, that figure is long gone—he’s gone up several pants sizes, sports a double chin, and signed up for VH1’s Celebrity Fit Club to work on his dad bod.

29. Ricky Gervais

The clever English comedian is known for speaking his mind and the truth, no matter how bitter his words come out. That’s what makes him such an adored figure in Hollywood! Being the most infamous superstar in the world isn’t easy, as Tyra Banks puts it. She has to make sure that she’s camera-ready at all times, and that means her body weight needs to be in check. She gained some pretty significant weight in the past, but with dieting, exercise, and moral support from her family and friends, she’s transitioned back to her thinner, healthier form.
