Sinéad O’Connor, 55, is in sorrow at the passing of her son Nevi’im Nesta Ali Shane O’Connor, who was 17 years old. Shortly after being sent to an Irish hospital for suicidal attempts, the adolescent vanished. The soloist’s other children include two boys, Yeshua Bonadio (15), and Roisin Waters (25).

“My lovely son, Nevi’im Nesta Ali Shane O’Connor, the light of my life, decided tonight to finish his fight on earth, and he is now with God,” the soloist wrote online on January 7, 2022. No one should follow his footsteps, therefore let him rest in peace. You have my undying love.”

The artist’s child was reported missing on January 6, 2022, and his demise was confirmed on January 8, 2022, on Saturday. Authorities informed Sinéad that her son had passed away. Sinéad had been battling mental health issues.

On January 6, the singer tweeted: “This disappearance, Shane, is not funny. You frighten me. Would you kindly inform the authorities as it’s the correct thing to do? If you are with Shane, kindly let the authorities know so that they can ensure his safety.”

“You only have a finite amount of time left on this planet, Shane. That wonderful smile on your face was not in vain sculpted by God. My world would crumble without you. My universe revolves around you. Don’t start punching him with your fists, please. Do not hurt yourself.”  The singer also made a post on the internet that read, “Let’s go to the hospital, shall we?

Just seven days prior, Shane made two attempts at suicide, and Sinéad charged the Dublin Medical Center with allowing him escape their custody. The soloist asked, “How did a distressed 17-year-old girl, who was under supervision, manage to disappear?” The hospital didn’t say anything.

The teenager was reported missing in 2019 as well, but the police quickly located him. The soloist said on the internet in February 2021, “Pray for my kid Shane, the light of my life.”
