A young woman, who wanted to remain anonymous, found a message written by her mother before committing suicide nine years ago.

The woman, who left behind three children and a grieving husband, was suffering from depression and had spent the last years of her life in a mental hospital. Here is what he passed on to his daughter before she ended her days:

“My dear, I want you to know that it is not anyone’s fault for my gesture. Neither you, nor your father, nor Anna, nor Ken. Please don’t feel guilty in any way.

I had a good life, I was surrounded by good people. The fact that I have to leave has nothing to do with love for you. I hope you don’t hate me for that. I love you so much I can’t put it into words.

I want you to remain the same good person. I want you to think that a beautiful life awaits you. Take care of your brother and sister. You don’t have to spend your days missing me.

Live your life! You need to know that if you spend the rest of your days knowing that they can be the last, and that’s what you decide, you’ll do things differently. Remember you are not invincible.

Fight with all your might every time, but accept defeats when necessary. What you live here is just a moment in the infinity of life. Make it matter, but don’t let it hang over your shoulders like a burden.

Don’t follow in my footsteps like this. I don’t do this because I don’t love you or out of selfishness, but because I’m sick. It is the kind of disease that will sooner or later have the same result.

And I choose to do that now. That’s the only answer. I hope and pray that this will not be your answer. But if it is, tell the people you love that you love them.

I love you and I’m sorry!

Take care of yourself,
mother”
