Planning a wedding can be a challenging task, especially when it comes to choosing bridesmaids and groomsmen. However, one remarkable teacher found a unique and heartwarming solution. Alexandra Stamps, a 5th-grade teacher at Science and Technology Elementary School in Wichita, Kansas, asked her students to be her bridesmaids and groomsmen on her special day.

Alexandra and her now-husband, Mason McDowell, who is a third-grade teacher, wanted to involve their students in their wedding celebration. “I love them and they’re part of my life. I want them to be up there with me because they’re my biggest fans,” Alexandra shared with the Wichita Eagle.

The memorable moment was captured by Alexandra, who recorded herself asking her students to be part of her bridal party. She then shared the heartwarming video on TikTok, where it quickly went viral, amassing over 19 million views.

In the video, Alexandra stands in her classroom and addresses her students, calling them each by name. “Khloe, Mary, Reagan, Angelina, Esmeralda, Lucy, Lily, Bella, Harley – will you guys be my junior bridesmaids in my wedding?”, she asks. Excitedly, the girls respond with a resounding “Yes!”

Not forgetting the boys, Alexandra continues, “Bryland, Max, Eric, Emilio, Kayden, Will, Conner, Jessie, Jose, and Sebastian – will you guys be my junior groomsmen?” The boys eagerly reply, “Yes!”

Upon hearing the question, some of the students burst into tears of joy. Alexandra explained, “We spend over forty hours a week with them, and we both really love our students so much.” She wanted to include them in this special occasion rather than have them simply sit in the audience.

Alexandra wanted to show her appreciation for their hard work, especially given the challenging year they all had endured. “They’ve not only survived the pandemic – but thrived in it – and watching them grow as people this school year, they deserve to be up there with me,” she expressed with pride.

Before officially asking the students, Alexandra made sure to consult with their parents to ensure it was alright for them to participate. As a token of her gratitude, she gifted the girls faux pearl necklaces and the boys colorful sunglasses. After proposing to the students, she surprised them with rainbow-striped lollipops.

Including her students in her wedding not only made it an unforgettable day for Alexandra and Mason, but it also left a lasting impact on the students. It was a beautiful display of love, appreciation, and commitment from their teacher, showing just how important they are in her life.

Looking at the image, it appears to be a picture of Alexandra and Mason with their students, with big smiles on their faces. The happiness and unity captured in this image perfectly reflect the heartwarming story of including the students in the wedding.
