Rebel Wilson described the agonizing moment she learned she didn’t have any “viable embryos.”

The new mother, who recently became a parent for the first time thanks to the assistance of a surrogate, discussed the harrowing experience in a recent interview with a magazine.

The 42-year-old Pitch Perfect star opened up about her feelings in an open and honest interview just days after announcing the birth of her daughter, Royce Lillian.

Rebel recalled the horrifying moment she discovered the eggs she had “not survived being thawed” while filming “The Almond and the Seahorse.” This news broke her heart.

“At that point, despite having undergone three surgeries and having lost a significant amount of weight, I did not have any embryos that were viable. It was completely disastrous,” Rebel revealed.

In another interview, she stated that her “desire to become a mother” was “so intense” that she “needed to keep trying” despite the setback.

“It was sentiments of grief as well as thoughts of hope, and all of those emotions had a role in my performance. It was a very trying and trying period,” she explained.

After informing her followers of the news, she told a media outlet that it was “overwhelming and thrilling” to be able to hold her newborn baby girl finally.

Rebel, currently dating fashion designer Ramona Agruma, shared a touching Instagram photo in which she introduced her first child to her followers.

“Beyond proud to announce the arrival of my first child, Royce Lillian, who was delivered this last week via surrogate,” she captioned a photo of her new baby.

“She is such a stunning miracle that I have no words to express the love that I have for her adequately. This has been in the works for several years, and I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has helped us get here…”

“But I wanted to express my gratitude to my stunning surrogate, who bore her and delivered her with grace and consideration.”

“I am ready to shower tiny Roycie with all the love I can muster,” she continued in her previous post. “I am rapidly gaining knowledge… Everyone who is a mother deserves a lot of respect! I am honored to be a part of this.”

Rebel revealed to the world in June that she was in a relationship with Ramona. “At the time, I imagined I was looking for a Disney Prince,” she wrote in her post.

“But maybe what I truly needed all this time was a Disney Princess,” she added,” followed by a slew of emojis with hearts and arrows pointing to them.
