Simple Purity Tests

- The Water Test: Drop a spoonful of honey into a glass of room-temperature water.
- Pure Honey: Will stay in a solid clump and sink to the bottom of the glass. It requires vigorous stirring to dissolve.
- Adulterated Honey: Will begin to dissolve or “bloom” into the water almost immediately.
- The Thumb Test: Place a small drop of honey on your thumb.

- Adulterated Honey: Is often high in moisture and will spread or spill across your skin quickly.
