Cheers alum Shelley Long appeared somber while spotted out and about following the death of her successor Kirstie Alley.

On December 6, one day after the news of Alley’s passing at 71, Long, who played Diane Chambers in the popular comedy, was spotted walking her dog in a Los Angeles park.

In pictures obtained by Daily Mail, the TV legend could be dressed up in a warm Sherpa jacket, sweatpants, and sneakers while looking deeply contemplative.

Since divorcing her second husband, Bruce Tyson, in 2004, Long is said to have resided in a $1.3 million condo in the affluent neighborhood of Pacific Palisades.

According to an interview with People, Alley, who famously entered the show in 1987 as Rebecca Howe, chose to “break the ice” by dressing like her predecessor.

To the joy of her new co-stars, she made an unforgettable first impression by wearing a blonde wig and a “goody-two-shoes” dress.

From 1987 through 1993, Alley successfully portrayed the endearing character, winning an Emmy and a Golden Globe.

After True and Lillie Parker, Alley’s two daughters broke the tragic news to them on December 5, RadarOnline.com reported on her passing.

The statement began, “We are sad to inform you that our incredible, fierce, and loving mother has passed away after a battle with cancer, which was only recently discovered,” noting that Alley was “surrounded by her closest family and fought with great strength, leaving us with a certainty of her never-ending joy of living and whatever adventures lie ahead.”

“As iconic as she was on screen, she was an even more amazing mother and grandmother,” they continued. “Our mother’s zest and passion for life, her children, grandchildren, and her many animals, not to mention her eternal joy of creating, were unparalleled and left us inspiring to live life to the fullest just as she did.”

RadarOnline.com has since learned that Alley will be cremated and honored in a memorial ceremony held by the Church of Scientology at the Flag Land Base in Clearwater, Florida.
