A mother-daughter team will graduate from college together.

With matching 4.0 GPAs and master’s degrees in social work, Alissa Meyer, 50, and Elizabeth Meyer, 25, are graduating from Our Lady of the Lake University.

For me, it’s an incredible sensation, Alissa Meyer remarked. Few people may claim to have graduated with their child or children.

According to the school, this is the third time a mother and daughter have graduated together in five years.

Elizabeth Meyer, the daughter, declared, “She’s my best friend.” All of our classmates refer to her as “mom.”

The Meyers live on campus and work as a pharmacy tech at Walgreens. They also hold three associate degrees from Central Texas College and a social work bachelor’s degree from Mary Hardin-Baylor.

After the spring commencement, the mother and daughter stated they intended to take a year off before returning to school to obtain a Ph.D.
