Glee star Lea Michele has disclosed that her two-year-old son Ever has been hospitalized. The Broadway singer informed fans that she will be missing the March 22 performance of Funny Girl because “we are at the hospital with our baby dealing with a terrible health problem that I need to be here for.”

“I’m sorry,” Lea, married to Zandy Reich, continued. “Will you please send us some love and strength?” She missed the matinée and evening performances; Julie Benko will fill in for Lea as Fanny Brice.

Lea was seen in the story hugging her son and a teddy bear in a hospital bed.

Lea and Zandy married in March 2019 after dating for two years. “Oh my gosh, I aspire to be a mum of ten kids—if it’s physically possible to pop that many out!” Lea previously revealed to Health. Ha! “I’m overjoyed about the idea of being a mother.”

“I always had relationships where I needed to be the one holding down the fort, and it’s nice to have someone who’s in their lane and has a foundation for who they are and where they are in their own life,” she said of her spouse.

“We met at the same personal and professional level. And to embark on that adventure together now is incredible.”

In one of the most talked-about Broadway stories in recent memory, Lea replaced a poorly-reviewed Beanie Feldstein in the Broadway revival of Funny Girl in 2022.

Beanie announced her departure from her role as Fanny Brice, made famous by Barbara Streisand, two months early because “production opted to take the show in a different direction.”

Lea has long aspired to play the character, even singing the show’s signature song, “Don’t Rain On My Parade,” in an episode of Glee.
