The Kelly Clarkson Show hosted the cast of John Wick 4 on Thursday, March 23, but there was a sense of grief in the air.

The episode, however, was recorded before the death of one of the film’s primary cast members, Lance Reddick, who appears in the aired version.

Along with a shot of the ensemble in the studio, the NBC show’s official social media sites acknowledged the catastrophic blow to the film.

“We are all very heartbroken by the demise of Lance Reddick following the taping of today’s program,” their memorial said.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Lance and the @JohnWickMovie family.” “Please join us today as we celebrate and commemorate his legacy,” he said, mentioning his charity, MOMCares.

Fans of the program conveyed their sympathies to cast members and Lance’s family members, writing comments such as, “Very sad, sorry for his off-screen as well as on-screen family and friends,” and, “His performance consistently pulled me to the character he played.” He will be sorely missed.”

Lance, who died on March 17, was amid press week interviews for the John Wick sequel when he died.

At the time, his spokesperson at Portrait PR verified the news, stating that he died of natural causes at 60.

Lance attended Yale School of Drama in the early 1980s but rose to prominence in the 2000s as Cedric Daniels in The Wire for five seasons.

Along with roles in TV shows such as Fringe as Phillip Broyles and Bosch as Chief Irvin Irving, he made his cinematic debut in 2014 as Charon, a New York hotel concierge, alongside Keanu Reeves.

Lance has appeared in all three sequels in the last nine years, with the fourth film slated to be released on March 24.
