Reba McEntire updated her followers on her “difficult” health situation on Wednesday, and she was immediately inundated with prayers and well wishes.
The country music artist sent a message on her Instagram account informing her followers that she has been forced to postpone three of her scheduled shows due to medical advice. Reba has admitted that she is currently on vocal rest and has thanked her fans for their patience during this period.
“Due to the fact that my doctor has recommended that I take some time off to rest my voice, I have unwillingly chosen to delay the concerts that were scheduled for this weekend. All already purchased tickets for the rescheduled events will be refunded. Thank you for your patience! Love, Reba,” she’d written.
The performances are slated for Thursday night in Raleigh, North Carolina; Friday night in Columbus, Ohio; and Saturday night in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Fans reacted quickly to the announcement, with one saying, “Take care of yourself and your voice before anything else, please. Your health is more important to us than attending any certain event. Reba, we adore you! May God bless you!”
“Sending love and prayers,” a second fan responded. “Take care of yourself, Reba,” said a third. I will pray for you, and remember that you can always do things later!”
Reba’s health issues have arisen after she paid her respects to the late country music legend Loretta Lynn, who died “peacefully” in her sleep last month at the age of 90.
Reba’s poignant and detailed recollection of her late mother on Instagram touched audience members’ hearts. Reba also reflected on her own life and career in the post.
“Mama was four years older than Loretta Lynn, making her the more experienced of the two,” it claimed. ” They have always reminded me of many parallels between them. Strong females who were passionately dedicated to and adored their children.”
“Now that they are both in Heaven, they are able to catch up with one another and discuss the manner in which which they were raised as well as the ways in which country music has grown since they were young,” she continued. ” The idea that Mama had the opportunity to greet Loretta when she entered the hollers of paradise is a very reassuring thought for me.”
“I have always adored Loretta, and that feeling will never change,” Reba concluded. ” She always treated me with such warmth. I owe her a great debt of gratitude for paving a tough and dangerous path for all of us female vocalists.”
