On Sunday morning’s memorial service for Lisa Marie Presley at Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee, the actress’s husband, Ben Smith-Petersen, gave a tribute on behalf of his wife, who was seated in the front row.

“I wish I could love my daughter the way you loved me, my brother, and my sisters. I’m grateful to you for giving me my heart, courage, humor, manners, temper, wildness, and stubbornness. Your heart gave birth to me, my sisters, my brother, my parents, and my grandparents,” Smith-Petersen said as he read his wife’s comments about his mother-in-law.

Smith-Petersen, who married Keough eight years ago, would not reveal any further details, such as the exact day or name of their daughter’s birth. According to a spokesman for Keough, 33, the couple had a girl in 2022.

Keough, the daughter of Elvis Presley and musician Danny Keough, met Smith-Petersen while filming Mad Max: Fury Road in 2012. Although they were briefly introduced on-set, they didn’t start dating until a year later during re-shoots in Australia.

“My husband is such a beautiful person,” Keough said in a 2022 article for Vogue Australia. “He is calm, dependable, strong, and compassionate. He is my dearest friend.”

The two quickly fell in love, and Keough and the Australian stuntman confirmed their engagement in 2014. Smith-Petersen uploaded a photo of Keough wearing a diamond ring at the time on Facebook with the caption, “So that happened.”

The couple married less than a year later, in February 2015. Keough and Smith-Petersen married for the first time in Nepal.

“The relatives knew we were getting married, and they offered, Let us throw you a Hindu wedding,” Keough writes in her Vogue Australia column. “That wedding was extremely gorgeous and, in some respects, more intimate because it was so lovely. I cried at the wedding. I wasn’t as present for my larger wedding because I was nervous. However, it was equally lovely.”

The pair, who had matching tattoos, married again on February 4, 2015, in Napa Valley, California.

On Friday, Keough posted a vintage black-and-white photo of herself and her mother on Instagram, revealing the couple’s parenting news.

Keough posted a small remark with the photo in her first public statement following her mother’s death, the sole child of music legend Elvis Presley: “❤️” she wrote.

Presley died on January 12 after being rushed to a hospital in Los Angeles for what seemed to be a heart attack. I am 54 years old.

Along with Keough, the singer-songwriter is survived by her mother, 77-year-old actress, entrepreneur Priscilla Presley, and twins Finley and Harper Lockwood, both 14 years old. Presley’s son, Benjamin Keough, died before her in 2020 when he committed suicide at 27.
