We all like to think that we would do anything for our family members, especially when it comes to their happiness and well-being. But what if it meant giving up your job and dedicating your life to their care? This is exactly what Chris Punsalan, a content creator and musician from the Philippines, did for his 96-year-old grandmother.

Chris’s family lived in Nevada, while his grandmother resided in the Philippines. Everything was going well until his grandmother ran out of caregivers. Instead of considering a care home for her, Chris made the selfless decision to uproot his entire life and become her full-time caregiver.

When asked about his decision, Chris said, “She took care of me and I would hate to see her go to homecare, which is where I feel most grandparents go in America. They go to home care because nobody is able to take care of them.”

Despite the sacrifices he has made, Chris considers himself fortunate to spend so much time with his elderly relative. He documents their journey on social media, sharing videos of their daily life together. Through these videos, he sheds light on the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing our loved ones.

“To see her forget who I am sometimes and for me to have to remind her,” he revealed. “That’s probably one of the more difficult things because it’s a constant reminder that life is very fragile, and it’s very short.”

Chris’s story has gone viral, inspiring people around the world with his selflessness and dedication. His decision to care for his grandmother reminds us all to prioritize the well-being of our loved ones.
