“I realized I couldn’t go on living like this. Because of the suffering, every aspect of my life was being ripped apart “Oh my goodness!” It’s what the star of The Irwins remarked after undergoing endometriosis surgery.
Bindi Irwin is speaking out about the health issues she’s been dealing with for the past decade.
The Crikey! on Tuesday! The It’s The Irwins star disclosed on Instagram that she had endometriosis, a reproductive disorder in which uterine tissue grows outside the uterus, causing cramps and persistent suffering.
The 24-year-old revealed in a selfie of herself in a hospital bed that she wasn’t sure if she wanted to discuss her health publicly but felt obligated to share her story with other women in need.
“I’ve battled insurmountable exhaustion, agony, and nausea for ten years. Attempting to be cheerful and hide the sorrow has been a difficult journey. Several tests, doctor visits, scans, and other procedures have occurred during the last ten years,” Irwin wrote.
“A doctor told me it was just something women have to live with, and I gave up completely, attempting to function through the pain. I didn’t find answers until a friend, @lesliemosier, helped me get back on track with my life. I opted to get endometriosis surgery.”
“Coming in for surgery was terrifying, but I knew I couldn’t live like this. Because of the suffering, every aspect of my life was being ripped apart, ” she stated. “To cut a long tale short, they discovered 37 lesions, some very deep and difficult to remove, and a chocolate cyst. While I was in recovery, @seckinmd’s first words were, ‘How did you live with this much pain?’ The relief from years of agony is incredible.”
Irwin thanked her family and friends for accompanying her on her 10-year journey and encouraging her to discover solutions. She also commended the doctors and nurses who had believed her misery for so long.
“I’m on the mend, and the gratitude I feel is amazing,” she added. “To people concerned about the canceled plans, unanswered messages, and my absence, I had been putting every ounce of energy I had left into our kid and family.”
“Everything may appear alright from the outside, gazing in through a window into someone’s life, but this is not always the truth. Please be gentle and take your time before asking me (or any woman) when we will have more children.”
“With all my body has been through, I am grateful we have our beautiful daughter. She feels like a miracle in our family “Irwin is the mother of a 23-month-old daughter named Grace Warrior, whom she shares with her husband, Chandler Powell.
“I’m aware of millions of ladies dealing with a similar scenario,” she said at the end of her post. “This terrible sickness carries a stigma. I’m telling my story to everyone who reads it and is living with anguish and no answers.”

Powell, 26, also posted a beautiful message to his wife on his Instagram account after she was diagnosed with endometriosis.
“You inspire me to be as strong as possible in all aspects of my life. Seeing how you pushed through the pain to care for our family and continue our conservation work despite suffering from endometriosis will inspire me for the rest of my life.”
He put this next to a photo of the couple. “The greatest gift is knowing you are completely free of endometriosis after surgery. I can’t wait to start this new chapter in my life with you.”

Irwin joins many celebrities who have spoken frankly about their endometriosis experiences. In the past, Lena Dunham, Halsey, Julianne Hough, Amy Schumer, and Padma Lakshmi have all spoken out about their challenges.
