The singer paid tribute to Tina Turner, who passed away on Wednesday at the age of 83, saying, “I’m so grateful for your inspiration, and all the ways you’ve paved the way.”

The “beloved queen” Tina Turner is in Beyoncé’s memory.

The singer, 41, posted a heartfelt tribute to the late superstar on her website after learning of Turner’s passing on Wednesday.

Beyoncé’s letter began, “My beloved queen, I love you endlessly. I’m incredibly appreciative of your motivation and all the ways you’ve paved the way.”

She said, “You are resilient and strong. You personify strength and enthusiasm. We are all very fortunate to have experienced your generosity and lovely spirit, which we will never forget. I appreciate everything you’ve done.”

The statement was accompanied by a picture of the couple bowing and holding hands while performing together on Tina Turner’s song “Proud Mary” at the 2008 Grammy Awards.

She announced to the crowd, “I’d like to bring out Miss Beyoncé. We’ll sing “Proud Mary” together.”

Beyoncé and Turner are seen meeting in a video that recently reappeared on a Beyoncé fan account on Twitter to prepare for their Grammy performance.

Beyoncé, who enthusiastically comes over to Turner and embraces her in the video, spoke at the time about Turner and her inspiration, saying, “When I was a teen, and I saw her tapes, I wanted to be like her. She is the pinnacle, therefore, to me, this is practically a dream. It’s weird to really share the stage with her.”

During a tribute concert for Turner in 2005, the mother of three again expressed her admiration for the musician. Beyoncé said to Turner at a reception for his receiving the Kennedy Center Honor from President George W. Bush, “I’ll never forget the first time I watched you perform. I never in my life seen a lady so powerful, so daring, so magnificent — and those legs!”

Beyoncé isn’t the only well-known person to have publicly recalled Turner and her career since she passed away at the age of 83; others include Oprah Winfrey, Diana Ross, Elton John, and Martha Stewart.

The adjectives “legendary,” “iconic,” “diva,” and “superstar” are sometimes overused, but Tina Turner epitomizes them all and so many more. She was a phenomenal performer, artist, and trailblazer.

She will always be an inspiration to women everywhere to me because she overcame so much. Future generations will be inspired by her music. Peace be with you, Queen.

After a protracted illness, the iconic singer passed away at her home in Switzerland, close to Zurich, her team revealed on Wednesday.

“With her music and her boundless passion for life, she enchanted millions of fans around the world and inspired the stars of tomorrow,” read a post shared on Turner’s Instagram.

“Today we say goodbye to a dear friend who leaves us all her greatest work: her music. All our heartfelt compassion goes out to her family. Tina, we will miss you dearly.”
