The newly revealed room was small and dimly lit, containing only a single chair. When Emma glanced back at the mirror, she realized it was a two-way mirror, perfect for spying on whoever was inside the master bedroom. This unsettling reminder suggested that the house’s creator might have had voyeuristic intentions.
Recent tensions with her husband had Emma contemplating the room’s purpose. An idea took root—she could use the room to verify Mark’s loyalty. After concocting a story about spending the night at her mother’s for a girls’ night, she noticed Mark’s indifferent response: “Yeah, yeah, cool,” he replied absentmindedly.
That evening, Emma hid inside the secret room. However, as she attempted to exit, the door suddenly closed behind her, trapping her in. “What an error!” she murmured in frustration, realizing the bind she was in.
Soon after, she overheard Mark’s voice with another woman: “Yes, Melissa, I hope you don’t mind—it’s my new place,” Mark said as they entered the bedroom. They started kissing, leaving Emma crushed.
Once Mark left to pick up pizza, Emma seized the moment. “Melissa!” she called out. Melissa, startled, inquired, “Who’s there?” Emma explained her predicament, asking Melissa to help her escape. After opening the door, Melissa was met with Emma, tears running down her face.
Shocked, Melissa asked if Mark had trapped Emma there. Emma clarified it was her own blunder.
Evidently, Melissa had no idea about Mark’s marriage. He had misled her to win over her business clients.

Emma resolved to divorce Mark. Knowing he wouldn’t easily agree, given her wealthy father’s influence, she crafted a clever plan with Melissa’s collaboration. Pretending normalcy, Melissa would guide Mark into signing divorce papers disguised as a business contract from one of her clients.
About a month later, at a casual dinner, Emma inquired, “Anything significant at work today?”
Mark blandly replied, “Just the usual.”
Just then, Melissa stepped in. Mark blanched. “What’s happening?” he stammered, anxiety creeping in.
Emma unveiled the truth, “You just signed our divorce papers. It’s irrevocable, thanks to the prenup.” Melissa chimed in, “Gather your belongings and leave. This is no longer your home.”
