Toby Keith, a country music singer-songwriter-actor, announced on Sunday that he had begun treatment for stomach cancer. According to his article, he was diagnosed with the condition in the fall of 2021.

Last October, the 60-year-old country legend shared on social media that he was diagnosed with stomach cancer. “I’ve had surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy over the last six months. So far, the good news is that I need some time to rest, recuperate, and breathe.”

According to the Ribfest website, he was supposed to perform at the BBQ event on Friday, but the festival canceled it because it is “currently seeking a replacement for Toby Keith to join Elle King on Friday, June 17.” In the future, refund claim instructions will be available.

“I’m happy to spend this time with my family,” the artist concluded. But I’m sure I’ll run into the fans soon. I’m becoming impatient.”

Many of Keith’s fellow country performers expressed their best wishes and prayers.

“Damn bro,” Jason Aldean wrote. “I’m sorry you have to deal with it, but you’re the only one who can bring Cancer down a notch. Big man, I’m praising you.”

“Praying for your body to heal completely!” RaeLynn added something.
