Did you know that there is such a rare birth that happens in 1 in 60 million births? A couple from the Czech Republic have become the parents of beautiful babies!
Alexandra and Antonin wanted to give their child a sibling, but the plans did not turn out the way they wanted because they found out they will have twins.
The two parents were very happy when they found out that they would have twins and could not wait to announce the rest of the family, but the doctor said he would like to repeat the ultrasound.
The doctor seemed impressed and the two parents did not understand that their lives were about to change completely.
The doctor turned to the parents and told them that they will not actually have two babies, but four.
Alexandra and Antonin went home a little scared, but happy with the news they just found out. They began to get used to the idea and began preparations to receive the babies at home.
After about a month, Alexandra had to go to the hospital again for a routine ultrasound. But the surprise!
The doctor saw on ultrasound that the fifth baby had appeared. Alexandra began to cry.
She wanted to give birth naturally, but the chances were 1 in 7 million. The young mother also wanted to breastfeed all five babies.
When the time came for the birth, there were almost 40 doctors and nurses in the room and fortunately there were no complications during the delivery.
The couple gave birth to four boys and a girl. Five healthy and beautiful babies!
They named the babies: Daniel, Michael, Alex, Martin and Tereza. In the Czech Republic quintuplets are born on average once every 480 years.
Quintuplets can be fraternal (multi zygotic), identical (monozygotic) or a combination of both.
Multi zygotic quintuplets occur from five unique egg/sperm combinations. Monozygotic multiples are the result of a fertilized egg that splits into two or more embryos.
Did you know that the natural conception of quintuplets is 1 to 60 million? Most quintuplets are the result of assisted reproductive techniques.
An interesting thing is that quintuplets can have different birthdays because there may be a delay in delivery.
The babies can be born days apart. A pregnancy with quintuplets lasts about 29-30 weeks and most births are by cesarean section.
I think life with quintuplets is quite difficult, but beautiful, isn’t it? But God does not give us more than we can handle, so we must be grateful for such a miracle!
