Antimicrobial Action: Ingredients like cloves and oregano contain compounds (such as eugenol and carvacrol) that are scientifically recognized for their ability to inhibit the growth of harmful microbes and fungi.
Digestive Support: Many of these oils, when used topically or in small amounts, help soothe the digestive tract and encourage a healthy gut flora balance.
Skin Health: This oil can be used topically to address external fungal concerns, such as athlete’s foot or minor skin irritations, thanks to its antifungal properties.
Immune Boosting: The antioxidants found in these herbs help strengthen the body’s natural defenses against environmental stressors.
The Ultimate “Defense” Infused Oil
This recipe uses a slow infusion method to ensure the most potent compounds are extracted from the herbs without damaging them with high heat.
Ingredients
1 cup Extra virgin olive oil or Fractionated coconut oil (as the carrier)
2 tablespoons Dried Cloves (whole or lightly crushed)
2 tablespoons Dried Oregano (or 5-10 drops of high-quality Oregano essential oil)
1 tablespoon Black Walnut Hull powder (optional, but highly effective for parasites)
1 clove Fresh Garlic, peeled and sliced (only if using the oil immediately; use dried garlic for a longer shelf life)
Instructions
Combine Ingredients: Place your herbs and powders into a clean, dry glass jar.
Add Carrier Oil: Pour the oil over the herbs until they are completely submerged. If you are using fresh garlic, ensure the oil covers it by at least an inch.
Infusion Process:
The Warm Method: Place the jar in a water bath (simmering water) on very low heat for 2โ3 hours. Do not let the oil boil.
The Solar Method: Seal the jar and place it in a sunny windowsill for 2 weeks, shaking it daily.
Strain: Use a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth to strain the oil into a dark glass bottle. Squeeze the herbs to get every last drop of the potent extract.
Storage: Store in a cool, dark place. If you used fresh garlic, keep the oil in the refrigerator and use it within 7 days. If using dried herbs, it will last up to 6 months.
A Note on Safety: These ingredients are very powerful. If you plan to use this oil topically, I recommend doing a small patch test first to ensure no skin sensitivity.
