At the People’s Choice Awards on Tuesday night, Selma Blair was named the best competition contestant of 2022. She received this award as a result of her great performance on Dancing With The Stars.

The award was presented to Selma by her close friend and co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar, and as she collected the medal, many of her fans burst into tears.

In response to the first comment, one user added, “Selma Blair already made me emotional, and #ThePeoplesChoiceAwards have just begun,” while another said, “Tears watching Selma Blair accept her #PeoplesChoiceAwards for DWTS.”

A third individual praised Selma for her strength in the face of her multiple sclerosis diagnosis, writing, “Kudos to Selma Blair for living her life to the fullest.  Selma Blair faces MS with strength and grace.”

Selma expressed shock after receiving the prize, saying, “I can’t believe the people gave me something after giving me so much over the previous few years.”

She also thanked her dance partner, Sasha Farber, saying, “Thank you to Sasha for being my partner and finding a method to enable me to move.”

Selma was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2018, and as a result, she was unable to compete on Dancing With the Stars after October.

During rehearsals, the “Legally Blonde” star told Sasha, “You know I’ve been monitored and in contact with my physicians this entire process.”

“I got these MRIs, and when the results came back, it simply piled up to I can’t, I can’t, I can’t compete anymore. I pushed myself as hard as I could.”
