Using rosemary infused in vinegar is a time-honored tradition in herbal wellness, often valued for its bracing aroma and the concentrated plant compounds drawn out by the acetic acid. Rosemary contains rosmarinic acid and camphor, which are frequently studied for their ability to support circulation and provide a sense of invigorated relief when applied or consumed in moderation.
This simple preparation acts as a potent botanical extract, making it a versatile addition to a daily wellness routine focused on managing physical discomfort and promoting clarity.

Rosemary Vinegar Infusion
This infusion utilizes the natural solvent properties of vinegar to pull essential oils and antioxidants from the rosemary needles. When used in small amounts, it provides a sharp, herbal boost that can be used both internally as a tonic or externally as a stimulating rub.
Ingredients
- 3-4 sprigs Fresh rosemary (or 2 tbsp dried rosemary)
- 1 cup Apple cider vinegar (preferably raw and unfiltered)
- 1 small Glass jar with a non-metal lid (vinegar can corrode metal)
Instructions
- Wash the fresh rosemary sprigs and pat them completely dry to prevent any water from entering the infusion.
- Place the rosemary into the glass jar. If using fresh sprigs, bruise them slightly with a spoon to release the oils.
- Pour the apple cider vinegar over the herbs until they are completely submerged.
- Seal the jar tightly. If you only have a metal lid, place a piece of parchment paper between the jar and the lid.
- Store the jar in a cool, dark place for 2โ4 weeks, shaking it gently every few days.
- Strain the liquid through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a clean bottle. Store at room temperature for up to six months.
Key Benefits
- Circulatory Support: Rosemary is traditionally used to encourage blood flow to the extremities and surface tissues, which can help soothe tired or stiff areas.
- Antioxidant Properties: The infusion is rich in polyphenols that help the body manage oxidative stress, a common contributor to physical tension.
- Digestive and Metabolic Aid: When taken as “small drops” in water, the acetic acid in the vinegar combined with rosemary can support healthy digestion and stable energy levels.
Note: Because this is a concentrated extract, it is best enjoyed by adding 5โ10 drops to a glass of water or using it as a base for a warming compress.
