In an interview with BBC Breakfast, Stewart shared his plans to release a new album in the swing genre following his upcoming summer tour.

When asked about rockstars performing into their older years, Stewart responded, “I am stopping.” However, he clarified that he is not retiring but rather wants to explore new avenues. The 78-year-old artist expressed his excitement about the success he had with “The Great American Songbook” and his recently completed swing album with Jools Holland, set to be released next year.

Stewart emphasized his desire to leave the rock ‘n’ roll genre behind, at least for a while. He acknowledged that everything comes to an end eventually but assured fans that he is in a good place with this new direction. Singing with Jools Holland’s band, Stewart is eager to explore a style that borders on rock ‘n’ roll but offers a fresh perspective.

He also explored soul music with his 2009 album “Soulbook.”

Currently, Stewart is preparing for a European tour until July, followed by a string of gigs in North America. He will then head back to Las Vegas in November, concluding his tour with shows in Brazil and more North American performances.
