Veteran actor Robert De Niro recently delighted fans by releasing a rare photo of himself with his adorable 10-month-old daughter, Gia. The picture, exclusively obtained by Page Six, shows the 80-year-old “Goodfellas” star cradling Gia on his lap, lovingly resting his cheek against her head.
Little Gia looked absolutely precious in her cute onesie adorned with musical squirrels. De Niro couldn’t help but gush about his adorable baby girl, exclaiming, “She’s such a cute baby” in an interview with People.
Despite welcoming his seventh child at the age of 79, the actor laughed about the unique dynamics in his family. “She amuses the youngsters to no end— even the grandchildren. She’s their aunt, and they’re about to become teenagers!” De Niro shared.
In addition to baby Gia, whom he welcomed with his partner Tiffany Chen in the spring of 2023, De Niro is also a proud father to Drena, 56, Raphael, 47, twins Julian and Aaron, 28, Elliot, 25, and Helen, 12. He also has four grandchildren, including Drena’s 19-year-old son, Leandro, who sadly passed away last year from an accidental overdose.
During an emotional interview with AARP, the Oscar winner couldn’t contain his joy when discussing his newest addition to the family. “Everything that I’m consumed with or worried about just goes away when I look at her. It’s wondrous,” De Niro shared with a big grin.
The 80-year-old actor shares little Gia with his partner Tiffany Chen, and he couldn’t be more grateful for her support. In an interview with the Guardian, De Niro candidly shared that he has taken a step back from “the heavy lifting” and is there to support Chen. He also emphasized the importance of having help in raising their child, saying, “And we have help, which is so important.”
De Niro and Chen first crossed paths in 2021 while working on the set of his 2015 film “The Intern.” Although their initial encounter was purely professional, they reconnected a couple of years later and realized they got along really well. Their romance officially began in July of 2023.
Prior to his relationship with Chen, the “Killers of the Flower Moon” actor was married to Diahnne Abbott from 1976 to 1988 and Grace Hightower from 1997 to 2018.
