In 1999, Haley Joel Osment made his debut as the tiny child in “The Sixth Sense.” He was 11 years old when he played the young boy in the thriller alongside Bruce Willis who could “see dead people.”

Osment is a grownup now.

So, what has this growing actor, whose breakthrough role was in “Forrest Gump,” been doing to for the previous eight to ten years?

Following “The Sixth Sense,” Osment co-starred alongside Jude Law, one of the world’s biggest stars at the time, in the 2001 film “A.I. Artificial Intelligence,” which highlighted his charming boyish looks.

Following that, he began to work as a voice actor for video games such as “Kingdom Hearts” and appeared in “The Country Bears,” “The Jungle Book 2,” and other projects.

Despite his early success, Osment has grown bored of the attention he received as a child star, arguing that it “burns an image into people’s heads,” according to the Calgary Herald.

“It takes some time after you grow up as a child before people start to associate you with things differently than what you were known for at first. It’s difficult, but I’ve recently had the good fortune to work on a variety of projects that are all over the country,” he said in an interview.

In light of this, Osment, who plays a young heroin addict, made a brief Broadway debut in 2008’s “American Buffalo.”

Two years later, in 2010, he returned to the big screen in “Montana Amazon,” co-starring with Alison Brie from “Community” and “Mad Men.” In the film, Osment, now in his twenties, comes from a family that grew up in the woods and must learn to adjust to modern life.

Meanwhile, the young actor graduated from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts in 2011. In 2013, Osment costarred with “X-Files” actor Gillian Anderson in “I’ll Follow You Down,” a drama about a young scientist who goes missing.

Osment has now fully realized his potential with upcoming roles in movies including “Tusk,” “Sex Ed,” the “Entourage” movie, and “Yoga Hosers.”

Hollywood has an uncanny ability to make time seem to stand still. When you think of the film The Sixth Sense, you think of Little Osment. But take a moment to remember that the film was released in 1999, over 22 years ago.

The characters have aged, despite the fact that the film will always be relevant. Unfortunately, everyone’s time is ticking away. How old were you when that movie first aired?

Exactly! Pictures and videos can capture time, but they just give us a glimpse of what it was like in the past. Time passes even when you’re watching a movie.

Osment made his film debut at the age of 11 in the renowned film. Because he is 29 years old, he is no longer a small boy. You probably wouldn’t recognize him if you ran into him in the grocery.

He still has those lovely eyes, despite his maturity. He now has a mustache and has gained a significant amount of weight.
