The death of actor and mixed martial artist Jason David Frank, well known for his part in the television series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, has been confirmed by his representatives, according to the entertainment news outlet Geek Ireland. He was 49 years old.

Frank rose to prominence in the early 1990s as Tommy Oliver, the green Power Ranger on a children’s television show about superheroes who are skilled in martial arts.

Frank portrayed the white Power Ranger in later seasons of the show. The television show generated a plethora of films, action figures, and toys.

Although no official cause of death was announced, several reports speculated that Frank had committed suicide.

The Iron Sheik, a professional wrestler, was among those who posted condolences on social media. On Twitter, he tweeted, “RIP JDF YOU THE REAL LEGEND… I will always love you.”

In an Instagram post, Walter Emanuel Jones, the actor who originated the role of the Black Power Ranger, expressed his regret over the death of a member of his “special family.”

Jones ended his post with the statement “Can’t believe it.”

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was an American television show that debuted on Fox in 1993 and immediately became a cultural phenomenon.

The show featured the adventures of five young people tasked with defending the earth from various threats.

Rita Repulsa exploited her power to convert Frank’s character into a villain at the start of the first season. Frank’s character was a villain at the time. However, he was instantly accepted into the team of heroes and swiftly came to fame as one of the most popular characters on the show and the games that were linked to it.

Frank, a martial arts practitioner of numerous styles, competed in a number of mixed martial arts matches in 2009 and 2010.
