Emma Heming Willis, Bruce Willis’ wife, has written a mournful birthday tribute to the legendary movie star amid his frontotemporal dementia diagnosis.

Rumer Willis, Bruce’s daughter, recently disclosed her father’s dementia diagnosis, one year after his ex-wife, Demi Moore, said he had aphasia, a hallmark of the terrible ailment.

“Since we disclosed Bruce’s aphasia diagnosis in spring 2022, his health has advanced, and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (also known as FTD),” Rumer posted on Instagram.

“Unfortunately, communication difficulties are only one indication of Bruce’s disease. While this is terrible, having a firm diagnosis is a comfort.”

Emma publicly addressed the photographers seeking to catch footage of him shortly after the news broke, turning it into a learning moment. “So, in the spirit of spreading dementia awareness, it’s evident that there’s still a lot of education that has to be put forth,” Emma said on Instagram.

“Well, this one is for the paparazzi and videographers attempting to get my spouse’s exclusives out there. Keep your personal space.” She went on to say, “Give him his space. Allow our family or whoever is with him that day to safely transport him from point A to point B. That concludes my PSA.” Emma has now given a touching birthday tribute amid Bruce’s illness.

Emma Heming Willis’s 68th birthday tribute to Bruce Willis is emotional. Emma turned to Instagram on March 19 to express her conflicted thoughts about what should be a joyous occasion. “This is my husband’s birthday,” Emma explained. “As you can see from my swollen eyes and stuffy nose, I started the morning crying.”

Emma also responded to comments about how “strong” she is. “I don’t have a choice,” the former model added. “I wish I could, but I’m also raising two children. Sometimes in our life, we need to pull on our big girl pants and get to work… But I do experience sadness. Every single day. Grief. Every single day. And I’m feeling it especially strongly now, his birthday.”

Later in the video, Emma stated that preparing footage for Bruce’s birthday reel was “like a knife in my heart.” Yet, she persisted for the sake of both herself and Bruce’s followers. “I know how much you like my husband… and it means everything to me. As a result, thank you.”

Tallulah Willis, Bruce’s third oldest child (of five), also took to Instagram to celebrate his birthday. She captioned a slideshow of vibrant photographs of Bruce throughout his life, ” “Bruce, my number one, had a birthday today!! I’m overwhelmed by all of the positive energy and love coming Willis’ way! I love him, and he loves me – what a joy!”
