A farmer found a massive egg under a chicken. He was stunned by what he saw when he opened it.
I don’t think anyone dislikes eggs for breakfast. Whether you want your eggs scrambled, poached, or sunny, eggs are the best way to start your day healthily. They provide us with the energy we need and pair well with bacon, cheese, and tomatoes.
Although it’s rare, some eggs can have two yolks. Have you ever seen an egg like that before? Even if you have, a Texas farmer can take pride in something even more spectacular than a two-yolk egg. That equals two eggs. If you have no idea what we’re talking about, read this amazing story.
Double-shelled eggs are so uncommon that even though there are recordings of individuals breaking them open, many people are confident they are false.
According to Poultry Help, the operation occurs when “an egg nearly ready to be laid reverses direction and gets a new layer of albumen covered by a second shell.”
The mechanism that causes the egg to reverse is known as a “counter-peristalsis contraction,” according to Countryside Network.
However, a YouTube video shows a man who describes himself as “just an old Texas farmer appreciating nature” and discovers a gigantic egg laid by a normal-sized chicken. More than 3 million people have viewed the video since it was posted in July 2015, as of this writing.
The egg’s shell slowly splits as the farmer starts to tap it. He removes a tiny bit of the chunk, and the yolk is then plainly seen.
“Oh, I see another surprise!” he chuckles.
“A double egger!”
The farmer carefully pours the yolk out of the shell because the inner egg is all that is left. No double yolks, he warns; that is for wimps. “We got two eggs!”
Nested inside the bigger egg was the smaller one. Additionally, he cracks that egg, which is typical of those we purchase at the grocery store.
