Fox News Maintains Unmatched Cable News Dominance with Record January

It’s been a stellar January for Fox News, marking their most successful start to a year ever. As they celebrate 23 consecutive years at the top of cable news networks, Fox News outshines competitors like CNN and MSNBC with record-breaking viewer statistics.

In the wake of Election Day, Fox News broadcast the 603 most-watched cable news programs, showcasing its unwavering dominance among news networks. Their superiority was further proven in January, during which Fox aired the leading 270 cable news telecasts in the U.S., reinforcing their status as the frontrunner in the industry.

Suzanne Scott, CEO of FOX News Media, took a moment to reflect on their ongoing achievements, praising the team’s dedication to delivering top-notch news coverage.

โ€œAs we commemorate 23 years as Americaโ€™s leading cable news network, my gratitude goes out to our extraordinary team both on-screen and behind the scenes for their relentless work to deliver the best news product. Annually, we reach new milestones, continue to innovate, and consistently outperform the competition due to their unwavering efforts,โ€ Scott expressed.

January saw Fox News Channel pull in an average of 1.9 million viewers across the whole day, securing their rank as the most-watched network in all of cable television.

With ESPN trailing in second place with 1.6 million viewers, other networks couldn’t even surpass the one-million mark. Fox Newsโ€™ ongoing ratings triumph highlights its steadfast audience loyalty and leadership within the cable news sector.

The network also demonstrated significant strength by attracting 253,000 viewers in the advertiser-coveted demographic of adults aged 25-54, compared to CNN’s 80,000. MSNBC found themselves struggling even more, drawing only 45,000 viewers within this critical group, an alarming 41% decrease from the prior January.

During primetime slots, Fox News maintained their supremacy, gaining 353,000 viewers in the sought-after demographic, easily surpassing CNN’s 118,000 and MSNBC’s 63,000.

Fox Newsโ€™ remarkable track record of dominating viewer numbers continues to set unparalleled standards within the cable news landscape, proving their influence and popularity remain unchallenged.
