Family fostered a 12-year-old boy that nobody wants – But soon they realized who he really is

Did you know that there are currently over 424,000 children in foster care across the nation? It’s a heartbreaking reality that so many children are waiting to be reunited with their families or find their forever homes. And in the state of Tennessee alone, there are nearly 8,000 children in need of a loving family. Sadly, there aren’t enough foster families to go around, with less than 4,000 in the state.

One of these children was Andrew, a 12-year-old boy from Nashville. Andrew had spent years moving from one family to another, never truly finding his place. However, his life took a beautiful turn when he was welcomed into the Gill family as a foster child.

Kevin and Dominique Gill already had a son, Joc, who quickly became Andrew’s best friend. The two boys bonded instantly, sharing a love for fun and adventure. Whether they were playing games, going for walks, or simply enjoying each other’s company, Andrew and Joc were inseparable.

As the bond between the boys grew stronger, Kevin and Dominique realized that they didn’t just want Andrew to be a part of their family temporarily – they wanted him to be their son forever. They decided to file adoption papers, making Andrew an official member of their loving family.

Imagine Andrew’s surprise when he found out that he was going to be adopted by the Gill family. While on a walk in the park with Molly Parker, an employee at Youth Villages, Andrew was met with the life-changing news. And without hesitation, he happily accepted their offer to be his forever family.

“My heart was filled with joy when I saw everyone waiting for me,” Andrew exclaimed. “They asked if I wanted to be a part of their family, and of course, I said ‘yes!’”

Now, Andrew and Joc, who were once best friends, have become brothers. It’s a heartwarming story of friendship, love, and finding a place to call home. And it’s a reminder of the incredible impact that foster families can make in the lives of children in need.

Let’s celebrate the Gill family and their beautiful act of love. Share this amazing story with your family and friends on Facebook to spread the joy of adoption. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of children like Andrew who deserve a forever home.
