Danny Masterson Transferred to New Prison

In a recent update, actor Danny Masterson has been transferred to North Kern State Prison in Delano, CA. This move comes after Masterson was found guilty of two counts of forcible rape and sentenced to 30 years in prison. Along with the news of his transfer, Masterson’s first mug shot has also been released.

Masterson, known for his roles in shows like “That ’70s Show,” is now focused on ensuring that his ex-wife, Bijou Phillips, is granted full custody of their 9-year-old daughter, Fianna Francis Masterson. While serving his prison sentence, Masterson is requesting visitation rights, which would be conducted at the prison.

This development comes just one month after Phillips filed for divorce, following their 11-year marriage. The separation date is listed as September 15, and Phillips cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce. Initially, there were reports that Phillips would support Masterson despite his conviction, but she ultimately decided to file for divorce.

Phillips’ attorney, Peter A. Lauzon, released a statement stating that his client’s priority is their daughter and acknowledged Masterson as a wonderful father. This decision to file for divorce has likely been an incredibly difficult one for both Masterson and Phillips.

For those who may not have been following the Danny Masterson rape trial, let’s recap how we got here. In 2020, Masterson was arrested after being accused of raping three women between 2001 and 2003 at his Hollywood Hills home.

The first trial began on October 11, 2022, and ended in a mistrial due to a deadlocked jury. The second trial started on April 24, 2023, and lasted three weeks. After extensive deliberations, Masterson was found guilty of two counts of forcible rape, while the third count was dismissed. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison on September 7, 2023.
