Following Danny Bonaduce’s announcement that he would undergo brain surgery, fans wish him well.

After experiencing difficulty speaking and moving for months, Bonaduce disclosed to TMZ in an online interview on Friday, June 2, that he had been identified as having hydrocephalus, a fluid buildup in the brain’s ventricles. He said, “I can’t walk right now. Just simply, I can’t.”

The actor claimed that his 2009 boxing encounter with former MLB player José Canseco or the time he took a guitar to the head on a reality TV show may have contributed to his neurological disease, even if he doesn’t know how it came about.

The 63-year-old will therefore have a shunt implanted in his head on Monday, June 5, and he is optimistic that the procedure will help him feel better. “If I can get from here to the kitchen alone, bravo,” he said. “I’m never going to rerun track or box.”

Fans, including Alison Arngrim from Little House on the Prairie, have backed Bonaduce on Twitter.

“Prayers, thoughts, crossed fingers — whatever the heck you got — for Danny Bonaduce,” tweeted Arngrim on Friday. “I’d ruin his reputation, LOL, if I told you what a nice guy he actually is in real life.”

Bonaduce replied, “You’ve always had my back,” to Arngrim. “I’m grateful.”

When Bonaduce tweeted his TMZ interview, more well-wishers joined in.

“All the best to you, Danny!” Tweeted one Twitter user. “Soon, you’ll be yourself again.”

Someone another tweeted in response, “Sending you tons of prayers! You can do this! I wish for a full and quick recovery.”

For The Partridge Family’s entire four-season run on ABC between 1970 to 1974, Bonaduce played teenage bassist Danny Partridge in the sitcom.

The Drew Carey Show, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, Monk, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation are just a few of the numerous TV shows in which he has appeared as a guest star. He also had a starring role in his own reality program, Breaking Bonaduce, on VH1.
