If you like watching crime shows, you’ve probably heard of Christopher Meloni.

The actor is most known for his role as Detective Elliot Saber on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

In real life, the actor has a lovely family. Please continue reading to learn more about them.

Following his success on Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, he returned to the role of Detective Elliot Saber on the spin-off series “Law and Order: Organized Crime.”

Along with his role as Detective Saber, the actor played prisoner Chris Keller on HBO’s Oz and a recurring character on season 5 of True Blood.

The actor has also done work outside of television. He was in several well-known films, including Man of Steel, Wet Hot American Summer, and Harold & Kumar. See also White Castle and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

He wasn’t always a well-liked actor, though. Before becoming a full-time actor, he worked as a bouncer, a construction worker, and a personal trainer, among other things.

Before landing a recurring role on NYPD Blue, he appeared in a few commercials.

In 1995, Meloni married his beloved Doris Sherman Williams. Doris was hired as a production designer. Sophia Eva Pietra Meloni, the couple’s daughter, was born in March 2001. Sophia’s grandmother is played by Meloni’s co-star Mariska Hargitay.

After Sophia, their son Dante Amadeo Meloni was born in 2004. Now that both of their children are of legal age, the couple is prepared for an empty nest.

Meloni has always been a kind father who puts his family first. In 2015, he purchased a house that was famously used for producing The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet.

His father was a doctor, while his mother was a housewife. He also recalls that they were always encouraging of his son’s career. “My parents were surprisingly cool,” Meloni said.

“They were always encouraging me to make my own choices. It was ‘What college do you want to attend?’ throughout my adolescence. It’s your call.’ ‘What do you want to study? It’s your call.’”

“‘I want to be an actor,’ he continued. It’s your call.’ When I finished college, I refused to believe that acting was a feasible professional option. On a whim, I called a friend and asked him what he was doing with his life.”

“He informed me that he was leaving for New York to pursue acting. ‘Me too,’ I replied. Where will you be studying? ‘The Neighborhood Playhouse,’ as it is known. ‘Great,’ I responded. ‘Can you tell me the number?’ That was it once I committed.”

When asked how he balanced being a father and an actor, Meloni said, “Ahh. Continue to breathe and be grateful. It’s very Zen, and I frequently fail at it, but I feel the tenets have a purpose and are correct and accurate. Simply keep breathing. Take in the present.”

He takes both of his tasks seriously. And the actor revealed that he is a very committed and involved parent to his children. “I’m the assistant coach for my son’s football and basketball teams,” he explained.

“I also attend my daughter’s swim meets and acting auditions. “It’s taken me a while to be calm and enjoy the moments I have with my children, but I know how important it is,” Meloni explained.

The parents urge their children to participate in extracurricular activities. “My daughter discovered that dance was not offered at her school this semester so she wouldn’t have a sport,” Meloni told USA Today. “‘You have to do something,’ we replied. “She chose ballet, and we showed her how to do it.”

The actor claims that his parents instilled in him the value of a decent education. “I think my kids would call me a little crazy,” he admitted. “I’m a very physical, affectionate person. I’m also incredibly disciplined and academically minded. That was something implanted in me, one point in life where there is no room for compromise.”

And he is a tyrant when it comes to discipline. He wants to ensure that his children always keep their promises. “I want them to participate in athletics or the arts because those are places where they can express themselves,” he said.

“The piano is a struggle for my daughter. ‘We’ve committed to the piano, but if you don’t want to practice, we’ll disconnect the cord,’ I attempted to say. ‘I’ll give it another shot,’ she said. I try to foster it by saying, “Please trust me. ‘Wonderful things will happen on this painful trip.’”

He wants to provide his children with all of the resources they need to achieve. He wants to help them grow in the most excellent way possible. “What works for me is empowering my kids,” the actor explained. I recall not having any power when I was younger. Power helps children mature, but it necessitates critical thought on their part. They are involved in a decision, which makes them involved in the family process.”

His son and daughter have grown into wonderful people. They also look to have the actor’s complete respect. It always gives me a boost to watch well-known celebrities that make sure their children are grounded!
