Beloved carpenter Ty Pennington, known for his role on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, recently shared an update on his health with fans. He took to Instagram to provide details on his condition after being hospitalized and intubated following the Barbie premiere.

Pennington reassured his fans that he is okay now and in the process of recovering. Although his week went from attending a glamorous red carpet event to finding himself in the intensive care unit, he remains positive and grateful for the progress he has made.

Pennington revealed that what he initially thought was a persistent sore throat turned out to be an abscess blocking his airway. This required him to undergo surgery and be quickly transferred to the ICU in Denver. He expressed his deep appreciation for the exceptional care he received from the medical teams at Summit Health in Frisco and St. Anthony’s in Lakewood, CO.

In his Instagram post, Pennington wrote, “Just happy to be here,” and encouraged his followers to listen to their bodies when something feels wrong.

This was a scary experience for Pennington, but we are relieved to hear that he is now doing well and on the road to recovery. His resilience and positive attitude serve as an inspiration to us all.
