Currently on vacation in Europe with her husband Michael Douglas, Catherine and Michael were recently spotted in the picturesque fishing village of Portofino on the Italian Riviera coastline before heading to Capri. The couple also spent some time in Spain, where they have a ten-bedroom holiday home. Nestled in the Majorcan mountains near Valldemossa, their property boasts 11,000 square feet of space.
UK TV host Linda Robson had the opportunity to visit Catherine and Michael’s Spanish home and couldn’t help but marvel at its beauty. The villa features a spacious living room, a cinema, a gym, and an outdoor swimming pool. It even has a vineyard and direct access to the sea through the small village of S’Estaca. Catherine’s personal touch can be seen in the decor, as she made the curtains and cushion covers herself. And their chef prepared delicious food with flowers, adding to the enchanting experience.
Catherine and Michael’s love story began in 1998 at the Deauville Film Festival. Michael approached Catherine and playfully declared, “You know, I’m going to be the father of your children.” Although initially unimpressed, Catherine’s heart was won over when Michael arranged for roses to be sent to her on her next acting job. They got engaged almost a year later during a New Year’s Eve trip to Michael’s home in Aspen, Colorado, and tied the knot in a lavish ceremony at the New York Plaza Hotel in November 2000.
The couple has been happily married for 23 years and has two children together: Dylan, 22, and Carys, 20.
