Did you know that Austin “Chumlee” Russell from ‘Pawn Stars’ has a legal history? Despite being a fan-favorite on the show, Chumlee has had some trouble with the law. Let’s take a closer look at his record.

Chumlee’s Legal Issues

While Chumlee is known for his entertaining moments on ‘Pawn Stars,’ many fans might not be aware of his past criminal activities. In 2008, he was arrested for loitering for prostitution.

Then, in 2016, his home was raided by the police in connection to a sexual assault investigation. During the raid, they discovered firearms, crystal meth, Xanax, marijuana, and traces of cocaine in his house. Chumlee was arrested and had to post a $62,000 bond to be released.

Shortly after his arrest, Chumlee faced 20 felony counts, including unlawful possession of a firearm. He pleaded guilty to the firearm charges as well as misdemeanor counts for drug possession. As a result, he was placed on three years of probation and had to attend counseling. Fortunately, his probation ended in 2019. It’s important to note that Chumlee was never charged in connection to the original sexual assault investigation.

Chumlee and the Harrison Family

Many fans of ‘Pawn Stars’ have wondered if Chumlee is related to the Harrison family, who owns the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop. The truth is, Chumlee isn’t related to Rick or any of the Harrisons.

However, he has been best friends with Rick’s son, Corey Harrison, since childhood. In 2004, Chumlee started working at the pawn shop and continued to work there for five years before the show started airing in 2009. He has remained with the shop and the show ever since.
