According to Dawood’s aunt, Suleman Dawood, the youngest traveler on the Titan of OceanGate Expeditions, reportedly voiced worries about the voyage in the days preceding the adventure to the ocean floor.

However, he decided to travel with his father, Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood, since Father’s Day weekend fell during the trip.

Azmeh Dawood, Shahzada’s older sister, told NBC News that her nephew “wasn’t very up for it” and that the Titanic expedition “terrified” him.

The 19-year-old decided to go on the trip to please his father, who had been “absolutely obsessed” with the Titanic since he was young.

Azhmeh was not surprised to find that her younger brother had purchased tickets for OceanGate’s current mission as she recalled the siblings watching numerous documentaries about the catastrophe and touring ship-related museums.

“I’m picturing Suleman, a 19-year-old, in there, possibly struggling for air. To be honest, it’s been crippling,” she remarked.

After learning that the Titan had most certainly had a “catastrophic implosion” from the United States Coast Guard, Azmeh voiced “disbelief.”

“The situation is unbelievable.”

The days preceding the debris field’s discovery were devoted to Azmeh’s TV.

She remarked, “I feel like I was caught up in a horror movie with a countdown, but you didn’t know what you’re counting down to. I sometimes have trouble breathing when I think about them.”

The Dawood family has requested that people “keep the departed souls and our family in your prayers.” They also thank the search teams for their “unrelenting efforts.”

We are sending out prayers for the Dawood family and the relatives of everyone who perished in the sad underwater explosion.
