Christmas is the time of year we celebrate the gift of Jesus, the son of God, born on earth and the salvation He gives to mankind. Use these powerful prayers to give thanks for Christ and God and the company of your friends and family during the holiday season!
„For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16
„And Mary said, “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior” – Luke 1:46-47
During the modern Christmas holiday, there are many material distractions from the original meaning and reason for celebration: the birth and gift of Jesus. The busyness and stress of the holiday season end up crowing out the very peace and joy that is offered to us through Jesus Christ. Taking a moment to pray, whether with family around the dinner table or alone in quiet time, can help us focus on the true meaning of Christmas. Prayer centers us and reminds us of the things that are truly important in life.

Short Prayer of Christmas Thanks
Thank you, God for sending Your Son on one glorious night to be born a virgin, to live a perfect life and to die on the cross for my sins. Thank you that he rose from the dead three days later and that this Christmas and every Christmas we can celebrate the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Amen.
Christmas Day Prayer
O Lord Jesus Christ, true God from true God, you became a little child for us so the world you made would be saved. Just as a child is born to us and a Son is given to us, may we be born again through you
and always remain in the number of God’s faithful children; through your merits, O blessed Savior, with the Father and the Holy Spirit you live and reign, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Thank You For Loving Me
Lord, I thank You for loving me so much that You would leave Your realms of majestic glory to come dwell among men. If it had not been for Your great love that compelled You to come and redeem me, today I would still be lost in sin. Because You loved me so much, You were willing to come to this earth and purchase my salvation. You were born as a baby in Bethlehem, yet You always existed, and You came here with a definite plan to save me from an eternity separated from You. Thank You so much for coming, Lord. Thank You for loving me enough to temporarily shed Your glory and become a man so You could pay for my sin and save me to the uttermost! I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen! – Rick Renner
Father, I pray that you will turn our hearts toward you as Christmas approaches. Let us not get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the season this year and miss the chance to celebrate the gifts of hope, peace, joy, love, that you sent to us on that first Christmas. That first Christmas, you gave us the gift of hope wrapped in swaddling clothes and laid in a manger. Thank you, Father, for your immeasurable gift. In Jesus’ precious name, we pray. Amen. – Stephanie Raquel
