Meet Thomas Lamont, a resident of Buffalo who has dedicated the last 19 years of his life to being a foster parent and adopting children. Thomas’s story is a heartwarming tale of love, sacrifice, and the power of family. Over the years, he has successfully raised 30 children and recently expanded his family by adopting 5 more little ones under the age of 5. Today, he is the proud father of 12 kids, all of whom are one another’s brothers and sisters.

Thomas’s journey as a single father began in 2000, when he first decided to assist a friend in need. Inspired by the experience, he went on to obtain a credential that allowed him to become a foster parent. And from that moment on, he never looked back. Thomas’s home became a safe haven for children in need, providing them with love, support, and a sense of belonging.

One of Thomas’s oldest adoptees, Michael, recalls his time in Thomas’s home with gratitude and fondness. For Michael, Thomas’s home became his third family, after the biological parents he was separated from. Thomas never abandoned his children, and even though they eventually grew up and started families of their own, the love and care they received from him remained unwavering. In Thomas’s home, every child was treated equally and loved equally.

Now that they have all grown up, Michael marvels at the fact that Thomas has started the journey of parenthood all over again with the recent adoption of the five siblings. “He ended up saving my life,” Michael chuckles, reflecting on the impact Thomas had on him. “Without him, I wouldn’t be where I am now.”

Despite the challenges and the sheer number of children in his care, Thomas eventually decided to take a break. One of his older children had moved out and gotten married, and he felt a pang of homesickness. However, fate had other plans for him. When Thomas learned that five siblings were in need of a loving home, he couldn’t resist the call to “come out of retirement.”

What made this decision even more significant for Thomas was the fact that he knew the biological father of these children. He knew firsthand that these siblings should not be separated and placed in different homes. Sadly, for over 1.5 years, the four children had lived in separate cities, longing to be reunited. Thomas’s home became their refuge, a place where they could finally be together as a family.

Thomas’s story is a testament to the immense love and dedication that a single father can have for his children. His journey of raising 30 kids and adopting 5 more is truly inspiring. He has made a lasting impact on the lives of these children, giving them a chance at a brighter future filled with love and stability. Thomas’s unwavering commitment to his children is a calling from God, as he believes, to raise them with love and care.

Thomas Lamont’s story is a reminder that family is not defined by blood, but by the unconditional love and support we give. It is a story that warms the heart, resonating with compassion and reminding us that it’s never too late to open our hearts and make a difference in the lives of others.
