A woman recently stated that she had to begin living in her parents’ shed to save money on rent. Aniah Warne, a 21-year-old woman from Boise, Idaho, revealed that she couldn’t afford the rent for a separate apartment for herself after moving out of her parent’s home.

As a result, she chose to use the shed in their back garden. After someone pointed out that she was living in a shed, the young adult gave her viewers a comprehensive tour of the shed in her viral TikTok video. Aniah responded, “I do live in a shed. This is my workshop.”

In her video, she also showed her fans her living space and explained why she needed to stay there to save money on rent.

“So I have this step right here that is like a small porch, and this wall opens out,” she said in her video. So I have a desk, a TV, a bed, and a view from my bed.”

“Then there’s my nightstand with necessities, a cute small chair, a plant, shelves, and a fridge. I have this mirror for trying on outfits; this is my closet. It’s currently quite clean. Oh… yeah. That’s my workshop.”

The video about living rent-free has gone viral, with over 1.5 million views and hundreds of comments and likes. “I don’t see how people can witness this and not want to do the same thing,” one of her followers said.

“Dude, this is very beautiful. It’s like a studio apartment but genuinely in a pretty place I love,” said another user. “This is what my husband and I are establishing for our kids,” a third user said. “Everyone receives a small studio on our property, so they don’t have to leave when they are 18.” Finally, someone commented, “These are known as sleepouts in New Zealand. That’s what I thought everyone called them, haha!”
