Fortified Mineral Bone Support

When prepared correctly, eggshell powder provides a highly bioavailable source of calcium, along with small amounts of other minerals like magnesium and strontium, which are essential for maintaining bone density and supporting joint function.

Fortified Mineral Bone Support

To ensure the eggshells are safe and effective, they must be thoroughly cleaned and finely ground to allow the body to absorb the minerals without irritation.

Ingredients

  • 5 to 10 Organic, pasture-raised eggshells
  • 1/2 tsp Lemon juice or apple cider vinegar (per serving)
  • 1 cup Filtered water or fresh juice

Instructions

  1. Boil and Clean: Thoroughly rinse the empty eggshells. Boil them in water for 10 minutes to eliminate any bacteria.
  2. Dry: Spread the shells on a baking sheet and dry them in an oven at 100ยฐC for about 15 minutes until they are brittle.
  3. Grind: Use a clean coffee grinder or a mortar and pestle to grind the shells into an ultra-fine, flour-like powder.
  4. Prepare: Mix 1/2 teaspoon of the fine powder with a small amount of lemon juice. The acid helps “pre-digest” the calcium, making it easier for the body to use.
  5. Consume: Stir the mixture into a glass of water or juice and drink it once daily.

Benefits

  • High Calcium Bioavailability: Research suggests that calcium from eggshells may be absorbed more effectively than some synthetic calcium carbonate supplements.
  • Bone Density Support: Regular intake provides the raw materials necessary for the body to maintain and repair bone matrix, which is crucial as we age.
  • Joint Membrane Nutrients: The thin inner membrane of the eggshell contains collagen, glucosamine, and chondroitin, which are specifically linked to reducing joint pain and stiffness.
  • Natural Mineral Balance: Unlike isolated supplements, eggshells provide a trace mineral profile that mimics the natural structure of bone.
