Copper Pulse Press

In traditional practices, placing a Copper Coin on the pulse of the wrist is a method used to harmonize the bodyโ€™s subtle energies. The wrist is a significant “junction box” where the radial artery and various nerve pathways are close to the surface. Because copper is one of the most conductive metals in nature, it is believed to act as a grounding rod, helping to stabilize the bodyโ€™s internal electrical “hum” and reduce the interference of modern electromagnetic fields.

The Benefits of the Copper Pulse Press

This ritual leverages the physical properties of copper to influence the body’s circulatory and energetic flow:

  • Electrical Conductivity: Copper is a superior conductor of electricity. Placing it on the pulse pointโ€”where the blood’s ionic flow is strongestโ€”is thought to help “bleed off” excess static energy or tension that accumulates in the nervous system.
  • Trace Mineral Absorption: While very subtle, the skin can absorb microscopic amounts of copper when held in contact for extended periods. In traditional wellness, this trace absorption is linked to supporting healthy connective tissue and joint flexibility.
  • Thermal Regulation: Copper adjusts to body temperature rapidly. This consistent, metallic warmth on the wrist can have a soothing effect on the tendons and nerves, particularly for those who experience “cold” or stiff hands.
  • Grounding Focus: The physical weight of a coin on the pulse serves as a constant sensory reminder to stay present. This “anchor” helps pull a scattered mind back to the rhythmic beat of the heart.

Metallic Grounding Seal

For this practice, ensure you use a coin with high copper content or a pure copper disc.

Ingredients & Supplies:

  • 1 Clean Copper Coin or small Copper Disc
  • A small piece of medical tape or a soft wristband
  • A gentle Soap (to clean the coin beforehand)

Instructions:

  1. The Preparation: Wash the copper coin thoroughly with soap and water to ensure it is free of oils and debris.
  2. The Warm: Hold the coin in your closed hand for 1 minute to bring it up to your body temperature.
  3. The Placement: Locate your pulse on the inner wrist (about two finger-widths below the base of your thumb). Place the coin directly over this pulsing point.
  4. The Security: Use a small piece of tape or a wristband to hold the coin firmly against the skin. It should be snug but not so tight that it restricts circulation.
  5. The Dwell: Keep the coin in place for 30 to 60 minutes. During this time, try to avoid using electronic devices to minimize external electromagnetic interference.
  6. The Awareness: Every few minutes, take a deep breath and feel the pulse beating against the cool, firm weight of the metal.
  7. Remove the coin and gently massage the wrist in a circular motion. You may notice a slight green tint on the skin; this is a natural reaction of copper to skin oils and can be easily washed away.
