Dad and Daughter Tragically Found Dead in Scotland Home

In a heartbreaking event in West Calder, Scotland, 6-year-old Hope Gordon and her 36-year-old father, Mark Gordon, were discovered lifeless in their home. This tragedy unfolded when Hope didn’t show up for school, prompting an intervention.

Concern Raised When Hope Missed School

The local police were alerted to the situation on Monday, January 20th, when a family member expressed worry over Hope’s absence from school that day. “Police Scotland responded to what we refer to as a ‘concern for’ call,” explained Chief Superintendent Gregg Banks. “The call was initiated by a family member concerned about their child failing to attend school.”

Hope’s mother and father shared custody, but it was noted that Hope had been with her dad for a period before the tragic incident.

Authorities initially reported no sign of involvement by a third party. However, after a post-mortem examination, it was revealed by Police Scotland that this sorrowful event is being approached as a suspected murder-suicide, according to The Sun.

Detective Superintendent Grant Hendry, leading the Major Investigation Team, shared heartfelt condolences: โ€œOur thoughts are with Hopeโ€™s family, friends, and all those affected by this tragic situation.

โ€œThe families involved are going through unimaginable grief, and we’re providing them with assistance through specialist officers during this incredibly tough time.

โ€œOur team of officers are diligently conducting inquiries to provide answers to the families, and at this juncture, we have no evidence suggesting the involvement of any other parties.โ€

Detective Chief Inspector Williamson reached out, urging the public for assistance with the ongoing investigation. โ€œIf anyone holds any information, no matter how trivial it might seem, please contact the officers.โ€

Chief Superintendent Gregg Banks addressed the community, acknowledging the understandable shock ripple but assured there’s no broader danger to the public as the event appears isolated.
