Danish Official’s Firm Message to Donald Trump Over Greenland Negotiation

Before a contentious phone call over the acquisition of Greenland, Danish officials reportedly expressed harsh disapproval of Donald Trump’s interest in the region.

Trump began his tenure on January 20, surrounded by family, former presidents, and tech leaders. His initial days in office were packed with activity, featuring a noteworthy phone conversation with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen.

The 78-year-old Trump engaged in a heated 45-minute dialogue with Frederiksen, proposing to buy Greenland, even dubbing it an ‘absolute necessity’.

Before his return to the White House, he shared his ambition to purchase Greenland on Truth Social, claiming, “For purposes of National Security and Freedom throughout the World, the United States of America feels that the ownership and control of Greenland is an absolute necessity.”

“Greenland is an incredible place. The people will benefit tremendously if, and when, it becomes part of our Nation. We will protect it, cherish it, from a very vicious outside World.”

Trump concluded with, “MAKE GREENLAND GREAT AGAIN!”

Despite Greenland officials firmly stating the land was not for sale, Trump’s call with Frederiksen remained tense and persistent.

According to the Financial Times, Danish authorities described the phone call as ‘horrendous, aggressive, and fiery.’ One insider remarked, “He was very firm; it was a cold shower. Before, it was hard to take it seriously. But I do think it is serious, and potentially very dangerous.”

Trump contested Denmark’s legal control, believing they should relinquish it for national security and global protection. “You don’t even need binoculars, you look outside you have China, ships all over the place. You have Russian ships all over. We’re not letting that happen.”

An additional source commented, “The intent was very clear. They want it. The Danes are now in crisis mode.”

Greenland’s prime minister, Mute Egede, has been emphatically clear that Greenland is not, and never will be, for sale, enjoying substantial support amongst its citizens.

Politician Aaja Chemnitz echoed these sentiments, saying, “I think some people find it quite disrespectful. And the way it has been done, and just the fact that you’re saying that you can buy another country.”

Amidst escalating tensions, Danish European Parliament member Anders Vistisen curtly responded to Trump: “Dear President Trump, listen very carefully. Greenland has been part of the Danish kingdom for 800 years. It’s an integrated part of our country.

“It is not for sale.

“Let me put it in words you might understand, Mr. Trump: F**k off.”

Indeed, the entire episode brought an unexpected twist in diplomatic relations.
