King Charles now 'desperate' to see Archie and Lilibet as "life is too short"

King Charles may be ready to mend fences with his son, Prince Harry. Despite the strained relationship between the monarchy and the Sussexes, there is hope among royal fans that the situation can be salvaged. The first step towards reconciliation is getting everyone together in one place.

According to a royal insider speaking with Page Six, King Charles is planning a grand family gathering at Balmoral later in the year and intends to invite Harry and Meghan Markle. However, the main reason behind the King’s desire for them to visit is his longing to spend more time with his grandchildren.

Charles hasn’t had as much time with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet as he would have liked due to the tumultuous circumstances surrounding his relationship with Prince Harry. This has become a growing concern for Charles, particularly in light of his recent health struggles.

“I can see Charles desperately wanting to see the children and extending this olive branch to Meghan and Harry,” revealed the royal insider. “He may decide that life is just too short. Balmoral is truly the perfect, restful place for a reunion. If he does issue an invite, then Harry and Meghan should surely agree to the visit.”

Archie and Lilibet have only visited the UK once since their parents’ departure from the royal family in 2020. This was during the late Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee. Tensions still remain high between the Sussexes and the rest of the royals following their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey and the subsequent release of their Netflix documentary. Harry’s upcoming tell-all memoir is also causing further strain.

However, if Charles extends an invitation to Balmoral, it will be intriguing to see how the Sussexes respond. Harry has expressed his intention to return to the UK for professional commitments, including the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games. Whether or not his family will accompany him is uncertain.
