It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Kenneth Mitchell, a beloved actor known for his roles in ‘Star Trek’ and Marvel productions. He was 49 years old.

In a heartfelt statement posted on his Instagram account, Kenneth’s family confirmed his death. They not only remembered him as an immensely talented actor but also as a devoted family man.

For over five years, Kenneth bravely battled ALS, approaching each day as a precious gift despite the challenges posed by his illness. His strength and resilience were truly remarkable.

Throughout his impressive career, Kenneth graced both the big and small screens. You may recognize him from his appearances in “Nancy Drew,” “The Astronauts Wives Club,” “NCIS,” “Castle,” “Criminal Minds,” and “Grey’s Anatomy.”

However, it was his breakthrough role in the series “Jericho,” where he starred in 27 out of 29 episodes over two seasons, that propelled him into the spotlight. His undeniable talent and dedication left a lasting impact.

In more recent years, Kenneth ventured into the realm of science fiction, where he portrayed Carol Danvers’ father, Joe, in the 2019 Marvel blockbuster “Captain Marvel.” Additionally, he took on multiple roles in the Paramount+ original series “Star Trek: Discovery.”

Kenneth Mitchell leaves behind his loving wife, Susan, cherished children Lilah and Kallum, beloved parents, siblings, and several nieces and nephews. In honor of his memory, the family kindly requests donations to ALS research.
